Computer Hardware upgrades?

I need to upgrade my computer to work with Age of Conan.
I have an ABIT IL8 motherboard, Intel Pentium D processor, nVidia GeForce 7600 GS graphics card, 2(512mb) ram cards.
I called up Fry’s (local electronic store) and talked to a hardware guy. He said I should probably upgrarde my video card, and add some ram.
Ram is only going to cost $60, so i’m going to do that.
I really dont know whether to upgrade my video card to,
but I’m willing to spend up to $200, so what is the best card I could get compatible with my motherboard?
What should i do to prepare for a computer hardware career?

Since my sophomore year i was 100% sure i was meant to be in the computer hardware area for my career. I made a website in a web design class sophomore year that talked about each important part of a computer. I would say for my age i am starting to become verry familiar with the guts of a computer. I love building computers, i used to just take my old one apart and put it back together for fun. I like hands on work. Sophomore year i decided to do my culminatiing project (3-year project over high school) on computer hardware. the hands on part is building a computer. i built my computer from buying every part seperate off newegg. now after doing research for this project i have been looking more deeply into computer circuitry.
my main question is how much math will be involved in what i want to do? i dont know if i want to deal with too much circuitry in computers because i know that it involves a lot of math, but part of me thinks i need to. I am wayy behind on math i stopped taking it after sophomore year so i have only completed core 2 (senior now by the way, seniors are in pre-calc). So my question is should i be doing something about my math issue or can i take classes about computer hardware but doesnt include as much computer circuitry and math?
I’m talking if i wanted to learn about circuitry and really understand things for an advanced career

How can I get my computer to start working with new hardware?
Saturday, August 5th, 2006Craig P asked:
I bought a geforce 7800 gs, and tried to install it but they said my power supply didn’t have enough watts and amps so I went and bought a new one that would help with that and now my new power supply won’t work so therefore my video card will not work either, maybe I am hooking some of the cables up wrong or what?
